STARZ 3RD ANNUAL CONVOCATION SUSPENDED AS PRECAUTION AGAINST CONVID-19
Monrovia, March 16, 2020 – In view of the development surrounding the spread of the Corona Virus (Convid 19) – the recent pronouncement of a positive case – in our borders by the Government of Liberia; the Administration of Starz University regrettably announce the suspension of its Third Annual Graduation ceremony which was scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2020. Following consultations between Board, Student Leaders, and Administration, a decision to suspend the ceremony was reached. A new date for the ceremony will be announced when the situation improves.
As you may be aware, it is yet unknown the Convid 19 rate of transmission, consistent with the information provided by the Special Health Team earlier today, regarding contact-tracing of those who may have encountered the first victim, including those who arrived on the Brussels flight on March 13, 2020. The current situation remains complicated and, as such, reminds us that we must look out for one another in our beloved Country and broader society.
The Board of Governors, Faculty, and Administration remain grateful for the cooperation of the graduating class and encourage all to follow the approved guidelines on precautionary measures against the transmission of the Corona Virus. Stay safe!
Please continue to check the University’s website and Facebook page for updates on the release.
